Five years in the making

Five years in the making

sow-sé was five years in the making. We didn't rush it. We wanted to build something worth waiting for, a considered collection of products for people who care about their home, their garden, and the life that happens in between.

Our first meeting about this brand, Ralph was in a Maxi-Cosi. He starts school in September.

It was built in early mornings, late evenings, the odd quiet hour until rugby finished and we had time to focus.

We decided early on that we would make as much of this as we possibly could here in Ireland, working with Irish designers and Irish makers, sourcing what we could close to home.

We knew we wanted to make planters, something unique and architectural that would work whether someone has a large garden or a small area to plant. They were a real labour of love. Designed and made in Ireland, built to last a lifetime.

From there, it grew. We wanted to help children stay connected to the garden, to understand how it works, the patience of it, where their food actually comes from. That connection felt like something worth protecting and passing on. It is one of the reasons sow-sé exists, and it was a joy to create. That became the book, Ready, Set, Grow.

One of our intentions was to bring the scent of the garden into the home. Once we started, we found ourselves thinking about a range of products that move with the rhythm of life, from the first thing you do in the morning to the moment you wind down at the end of the day. We are proud that they are handmade in Cork.

There is a bit of fun in the product names, and a little humour in some of the T-shirts and totes, a reflection of how much we have enjoyed creating this brand. Peter's vintage Defender is another labour of love that has been restored slowly over the years, and we captured it on our tees.

Like the garden, you put the work in, you give things time, and eventually something grows.

So we let it take the time it took.

And now, after five years, we are ready. Ready, but not finished.

Our tagline is where knowledge grows, and it is as much an intention as it is a description. Everything we have made so far is really just a beginning. From here, we want to keep learning, and to share what we learn with you: stories, seasonal guidance, and the things a garden teaches when you give it time.

A garden is never really done. Neither are we. We are so glad you are here for what comes next.
